Where the Divine Mother First Placed Her Feet

A Sacred Beginning

Long before the cosmic ages began, the Supreme Mother, Maha Shakti, and Lord Shiva manifested the Earth. In Her infinite grace, She chose a pristine piece of land to anchor Her divine energy, gently placing Her Holy Feet and sanctifying the soil for eternity.

To mark this powerful moment, She planted Her Trishul (Trident) deep into the earth—a profound symbol of divine presence and protection. This hallowed ground came to be known as Thiruvadisoolam, a sacred space where the Divine Mother's eternal footprints continue to radiate boundless love and blessings to all who step onto this soil.

Vishwaroopa Darshan

The Cosmic Vision

At the sacred forest of Thiruvadisoolam, the Divine Mother blessed Her beloved son, Devi Guha Yogi Sri Swamigal, with a rare cosmic vision — the Vishwaroopa Darshan.

She appeared first as a frail old woman, then transformed into a mystical black serpent, before revealing Her true cosmic form alongside Lord Shiva. With the combined power of all 51 Shakthi Peedams, She manifested as Kaliyuga Nayagi Karumari.

Fulfilling Her divine promise, She instructed Her son to create Her idol, allowing devotees to experience Her boundless grace forever.

Why 51 Feet?

The 51-Foot
Viswaroopa Amman

Guided by the Divine Mother, Sri Swamigal set out to create a sacred idol (Moorthy) that could truly match the boundless grandeur of Her cosmic form—a form taller than all Devas.

Devi Herself directed him to a specific spot, marked by a circling Garuda. There, buried 22 feet deep in the earth, they miraculously discovered a massive 56-foot rock.

Guided by Her grace, this single self-manifested (Swayambu) stone was beautifully sculpted into the majestic 51-foot Viswaroopini Devi Sri Karumaari Amman, radiating peace and prosperity for all who seek Her.

SACRED HISTORY

Devi's Divine Play

1

The Descent for Kali Yuga

Alarmed by the intensity of Kali Yuga, Devi embraced the five divine roles. Lord Narayanan pledged to manifest His divine presence in Her Aadhi Thiruvadi Kshetra (Thiruvadisoolam) after His earthly incarnations.

2

Encounters with Surya & Yama

During Her celestial travels, She humbled Lord Surya and blessed him by manifesting on Sundays. She then reclaimed the Death Rope from Lord Yama, ensuring Her devoted followers remain beyond his reach without Her permission.

3

The Celestial Maiden

Devi incarnated on Earth through a celestial maiden in Pazhanthandalam. Transforming into a black serpent, She gracefully claimed the maiden's physical form, fully manifesting Her radiant divine presence as Devi Karumaari.

4

The Final Revelation

After establishing powerful Sakthi Peedams through chosen Yogis like Sri Thambu Swamigal at Thiruverkadu, She unveiled Her most ancient eternal abode—Thiruvadisoolam—revealing Her cosmic form to Devi Guhayogi.
